Many people believe watermelon, nutritionally, has nothing going for it. However, watermelon actually can provide us with many benefits to our health!
 Get ready for some facts that will blow your mind!

Watermelons are a great source of antioxidants! What antioxidants do is seize, take control and get rid of compounds called free radicals before they can react with other biomolecules and cause grave damage.

Watermelons contain one of the highest amounts of lycopene, out of any fruits and vegetables. Lycopene is a carotenoid phytonutrient that assists with cardiovascular health, bone health, and different types of cancer, especially prostate cancer.

The lycopene in watermelons also act as an anti-inflammatory, which is extremely beneficial for people that are dealing with prostate issues.

Watermelons contain many other vitamins beneficial to one’s health! Watermelons are a great source of :

  • Vitamin A – Which is important when looking after your eye health.
  • Vitamin C – An excellent immune booster.
  • Vitamin B6 – Which converts protein into useable energy, improving the functionality of your brain.

FUN FACT:

If you didn’t know already, you should juice the rind as well cause it actually contains ninety-five per cent of the nutritional content of the watermelon THATS CRAZY RIGHT?!
 Most people throw out the white and green parts without even knowing! That said, if one doesn’t own a juicer, eating the rind would be hard on the body unfortunately.
